OxNotes1.Purpose and publisher
These terms govern the use of the OxNotes app and OxNotes Pro (“the Service”). By installing or using it, you accept them. If you do not accept them, uninstall the app.

2.Service
OxNotes is a local notebook for Android 7.0 and later: notes, checklists, photos, drawings, voice memos, priorities, colors, labels, search and a 30-day trash. No OxNotes account is required; the Internet is only needed for the Pro purchase and Google Drive.
OxNotes does not sync notes and does not store them on its servers. Feature details: Features page.
Minimum age: 16 (or the age of digital majority in your country of residence). A minor needs the permission of their legal guardians before using the app or making a purchase.
3.Free and OxNotes Pro
Free features have no note limit and no ads. They include photos, drawings and voice memos, one protected note, three labels, one-time reminders, exporting your notebook and restoring an existing backup.
OxNotes Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase with no subscription, at the price shown by Google Play before any payment. It adds unlimited protected notes, Google Drive backup, full organization, search in photo text, PDF, Markdown and ZIP exports, repeating reminders, pinned notes, widgets and extra shades.
The purchase is tied to the Google Play account; “Restore my purchase” finds it on another device. It does not restore notes. It cannot be transferred to another store.
Access to your notes never depends on Pro. If the Pro entitlement disappears (refund, revocation…), Pro features are suspended, with no deletion of notes.
4.Payment, withdrawal and refunds
In-app purchases are processed exclusively by Google Play Billing (Google LLC). The Publisher does not collect or keep your bank details or card number.
Digital content: by buying Pro, you ask for immediate performance of the service and instant unlocking of the related features.
Refunds are governed exclusively by Google Play rules and deadlines (usually through Google Play support, from your order history, within hours of the purchase). The Publisher cannot refund outside the Google Play infrastructure. See the Google Play refund policy. Your mandatory consumer rights are preserved.
5.Protected notes
Before the first protection, OxNotes shows a recovery key to keep outside the device and asks you to verify it. You alone are responsible for it: the Publisher does not receive it and cannot recover it.
Without a usable device key or the recovery key, a protected note or an encrypted backup cannot be decrypted.
The key is not a backup. An export, a share or a readable copy is no longer protected.
6.Google Drive backup
Optional, through your Google account and its terms. It is a Pro feature; restoring an existing backup stays possible without Pro.
Backup, not sync. Copies are encrypted before upload with a key protected by your recovery key. Photos, drawings and recordings are included as you choose. Several generations are kept, the automatic frequency is indicative (Android may delay it) and copies use your Google account storage.
Replacing the notebook is confirmed before acting, and a local copy lets you undo the last restore. Reminders, notifications and widgets must be re-enabled after restoring. Protected notes require their recovery key. The “Delete Drive copies” button erases OxNotes copies from your Drive.
7.Your notes and data
Your notes are stored on your device and belong to you. It is up to you to back them up: uninstalling OxNotes or clearing its data deletes the notebook, and Android’s automatic backups do not include it. The Publisher has no access to them and cannot recover them.
How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy, which is an integral part of these terms.
8.Reminders, widgets and sharing
Without the exact-alarm permission, or if the app is force-stopped, a reminder may be delayed or missed; missed reminders are not replayed. Do not rely on it for a critical deadline.
Dictation and text recognition in photos run on your phone, depending on device compatibility; their result is indicative.
Sharing and exports happen at your request, through the system menu. You are responsible for the content and recipients you choose.
9.Intellectual property
The app, its name, its visual identity and its code belong to the Publisher or its licensors. You remain the owner of the content of your notes and the Publisher claims no right over it. The fonts Source Serif 4, Source Sans 3 and Noto Emoji are licensed under SIL OFL 1.1.
10.Your commitments
Use OxNotes in accordance with the law. You may not bypass the Pro purchase check, decompile or modify the app beyond what the law allows, or use it to store unlawful content.
11.Availability and liability
OxNotes is provided “as is” and “as available”. The Publisher guarantees neither the absence of errors nor the availability of Google Play or Google Drive. Within the limits of the law, it is not liable for data loss caused by the device, lack of a backup, loss of a recovery key or a third-party service. Your mandatory consumer rights are preserved.
12.Changes to these terms
The Publisher may update these terms to reflect technical, legal or functional changes. The update date is shown at the top of the page. Continuing to use the app after publication means acceptance.
13.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Ivorian law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence. In case of a problem, contact the Publisher first: we look for an amicable solution.
